# 2.2.3 Report Building Tutorials - Twitter Locations

Affinio determines a Twitter user's location based on the location field in their bio. The location field is optional and accepts free form entry, meaning that Twitter users can enter a country, city, region, or whatever else they choose.

 

Here is an example where "Canada" has been entered in the location field:

Similarly, you can enter locations in free form when you are building an Affinio report. Affinio leverages machine learning to understand that specific locations encompass more than one place (e.g., Canada includes Halifax, Nova Scotia, etc.). However, there isn't full global coverage for this feature. If a country is *not included* in the list below, we would recommend including other location descriptors such as major cities to round out the coverage (e.g., Colombia, Bogotá, Medellín, etc.).
