# Controlling Claude usage by temporary disabling unnecessary apps

When using Claude with multiple connected apps, like **Audiense Insights**, **TweetBinder**, or **LinkedIn,** it's easy to forget that Claude might automatically pull data from *all* enabled tools during a prompt.

To avoid unnecessary data access and **preserve your usage credits**, you can **disable (turn off)** any tools you don't need for a specific session.

### Why disable tools?

- **Keep Claude focused** on specific data sources
- **Avoid unexpected or irrelevant output**
- **Reduce credit usage** by skipping unnecessary app calls
