# 4.1.3 Merge a Cluster

Easily combine clusters from the left-hand navigation so that you can simplify the narrative for colleagues or clients without any distractions. Merging clusters will automatically re-aggregate the data, so that the members all stay within the report audience but get redistributed. Any number of clusters can be combined.

 

**To merge clusters:**

1. Hover over the cluster in the left hand-panel, and select the **gear** icon.
2. Select the **Merge Cluster** option.

   You will be directed to a Modify Report page to confirm your selection.

   From this page, you will select an additional cluster(s) from the left-hand panel.
3. Designate which cluster you want to become the new “parent” of the other one(s) being combined.

   The color, name, and notes from the designated cluster will remain after processing is complete - yet it will grow in size accordingly.
4. Click the **Merge** button.  
   The report will take approximately 5 mins to recalculate. Reports can not be edited until after they have finished updating. You will receive an email notification when the report data has been updated.
