5.1.6 Users - How to create a Viewer User (Admin Only)

Affinio offers viewer seats as an affordable way to onboard more users without having to train them how to build reports or use additional resources. Viewer users have read-only access to reports that are shared with them by full users, which includes regular and admin users in your company. Viewer seats are also entitled to run queries in Express. 

Only companies with viewer seat counts can onboard viewer users. Talk to your account representative if you would like to add viewer seats to your Affinio subscription. 

Steps to create a view user: 

1. Click into the Admin tab in the platform

2. From the Users section, click Create Account.

3. Type in the first name, last name, and e-mail of the person you would like to make a view user.

4. Specify their role as Viewer. If your company does not have a seat limit available, you will be advised to choose from another available role(s).

What Viewer users can and can’t do:

Viewer users can:

  • Open shared reports or folders
  • Create/organize their own folders
  • Set preferences, reset password
  • View notes, notifications, emails
  • Take screenshots
  • See teasers for key features (CTA to contact admin or Affinio rep): CSV Exports, Twitter Ads, Segment a Cluster, Monitoring, New Reports, Benchmarks Settings
  • Be added to groups
  • Run queries in Express

Viewer users can’t:

  • Create reports
  • Edit cluster names
  • Edit report names
  • Write or edit notes
  • Share/edit/delete a report/folder
  • Set benchmarks
  • Perform report actions (Twitter Ads, Segment a Cluster, Export CSV, Monitor)
  • Request clustering of a query done in Express
